Adding hours and minutes from a time card is not like adding decimals. For example, 1:30 + 1:30 does not equal 2.60... it equals 3:00 (3hrs 00m).

So if you want to add them like decimals, convert the minutes to hundredths of a minute. With the example above, if we convert 1:30 to hundredths we get get 1.50, then our calculation becomes 1.50 + 1.50 equaling 3.00.

That will make adding time a lot easier.

Keep in mind decimals are not always exact. For example .50 hundredths is exactly 30 minutes. However .48 hundredths is not exactly 29 minutes. It's rounded from 0.48333333.
