About that free online time clock

How is it working out for you?

Sure, you lose nothing because you paid nothing, that's cool. But does it really handle everything you need?

For example, does it calculate overtime, offer any kind of PTO tracking, integrate with payroll, and store data for 3 years or more?

Sorry to break this to you.

Nobody offers a free time clock out of the kindness of their hearts. It's simply a sales gimmick to get you to sign up.

Unless of course they offer a family member a free account, which is totally different.

But in your case, why do they do this?

Here are a few reasons:

• To get you to sign up, their number one goal
• To get your business information which they may try to sell later
• To get you to upgrade, typically by constant reminders
• To sell their time clock hardware, then charge for technical support

Same thing applies to payroll providers offering 6 months free service. Awesome! You get 6 months free! Then unfortunately pay inflated prices thereafter.

Kudos however goes out to one competitor of ours. After years of offering a free version, they finally stopped the shenanigans. Good on them!

That said, our service is always free too, providing your account is not being used.
