Delegating Payroll is a Choice
Seth Godin's blog posts usually get me to think.
In a recent post titled Delegate everything, he talks about how each task we have has three options:
- Delegate everything
- Delegate some things
- Delegate no things
Which makes sense right?
It's our choice to delegate a task to an employee, contractor, AI, or instead get the thing done ourselves. If we delegate, all that really matters is the end result is good, and that our customers and stakeholders are happy.
For example, if you have a favorite place to eat pizza, you probably don't care where they buy the cheese and pepperoni, you only care about the pizza, and maybe the folks that make it for you.
The same is true with employees.
If your employees work for a paycheck or ACH direct deposit, they probably don't care how it got processed, they only care about the cash in their account on Friday morning.
So, if payroll processing doesn't matter to your employees, doesn't it make sense to delegate?
Unless of course, you have plenty of free time on your hands.
